The Iconocaves : Peerless Pool

You pause for a moment at the top of the slope. The Peerless Pool is a pretty sight, an underground spring bubbles up from the depths, sending tiny ripples radiating out across the surface. The east edge of the pool has broken away & the water cascades over the edge to form a swift flowing river.

From the east, the path follows the contours of the riverback down to a stone landing then back up again to a tunnel west. Here & there a rock is missing from the footway, one needs to cross with care to avoid slipping.
